Please welcome, Mindy LaCasse, one of Declutter Now’s FIRST Bible Study Leaders!

My husband, Norm, and I lead a couples bible study at Northern Hills Community Church in Phoenix, AZ. We were struggling for ideas for our next study as we wanted something we hadn’t touched on before. We also wanted to open the class up to more than just married couples. Then along came Declutter Now! It was perfect! Declutter Now! incorporates all aspects of life – spiritual, mental, emotional and physical. Anyone can and will benefit from the study. It was our chance to not only help ourselves, but others as well, to declutter our lives and grow closer to the Lord in the process.

We kicked off our first class last Sunday and it was amazing. make it through all of the questions; there was never a prolonged silence. People were so energized and willing to share their fears, stumbling blocks and major barriers to decluttering. They also shared very practical ideas to decluttering. One of the most major barriers to decluttering for one of our class members was that she kept focusing on EVERYTHING that needed to be decluttered. After several very helpful suggestions, we discovered that if we focus on decluttering only ONE 14-inch space at a time, seemingly insurmountable obstacles can be overcome. So that has become our class motto – “Only one 14 inch space at a time!”

I’m so excited to see how God works in all our attendees’ lives through the rest of the study. I’ll check back in at the end of the eight week study and let you know how it turns out!
